This homemade energy drink has the same percentage of carbohydrate as your typical commercial energy drink. It does not taste overly sweet and is very effective in replacing lost electrolytes
- 1/2 lemon, juiced (sour)
- 3 tbsp. agave nectar (sweet) –Note: in the winter or cold weather replace agave with raw honey
- 1/8 tsp. Himalayan salt (salty) -Note: in warm weather or if you tend to sweat profusely this can be increased to ¼ tsp
- 1/8 tsp. cardamom (sweet, pungent)
- A few strands of saffron (sweet, astringent, bitter)
Add water and shake. Enjoy!
